Deakin Sustainability and Virtual Reality in Construction Workshop
7th August 2019, Deakin Waterfront, Geelong
The Live+Smart Research Laboratory in conjunction with the MInD Laboratory at the Deakin University School of Architecture and Built Environment organized an Industry Breakfast Workshop to discuss the blockages to implementing sustainability considerations in construction, and to further assess the use of Virtual Reality (VR) platforms to overcome these issues. This event brought together industry and academia, to examine the challenges of incorporating smart technologies such as Virtual Reality in the sustainable design and construction of buildings, using a local current case study of dynamic building facades as an example. The breakfast event commenced with a fun and fast-paced workshop that lead participants through a structured programme of activities aimed at providing insights into the benefits of using VR platforms to aid the implementation of sustainability considerations in construction.
