Ambient Intelligence and Interfaces in the Built Environment Workshop
Deakin Geelong Waterfront, 10th February 2020
On Monday February 9th, MindLab hosted Ambient Intelligence and Interfaces in the Built Environment Workshop. The workshop represents one of the initiatives of the MindLab director, professor Tuba Kocaturk, to establish a new area of expertise at Deakin University in applications of embedding “intelligence” into our everyday physical spaces and outdoor environments, all with a purpose to develop innovative ways for people to interact with surrounding physical space.
The subject area is intrinsically transdisciplinary, which builds on advances in design, materials, sensors and sensor networks, pervasive computing, and artificial intelligence, HCI and interfaces, as applied to the Built Environment. With this workshop, MindLab aimed to bring people from complementary expertise and interest in this subject matter to explore possible pathways for collaboration, through funded research and practice- based applications.
